When I was younger, my mom was always spotted with hair rollers on (imagine that vintage looking image of stay-at-home-moms) and she made me and my sister help her put on and take them off. I remember it was always a joy helping to beautify her, it was one of those memorable mother-daughter bonding moment.
Fast forward today, I am old enough to use my own hair rollers. I received a set of VS Sassoon travel hair rollers from our local beauty ecommerce store, HiShop Malaysia (thank you!) and was asked my thoughts on it. Before this, I have always curled my hair the old school way of using a heated curling tong. They never fail to give me the volume and staying power that I want.
My blogging journey has opened up plenty of opportunities to try out many things for the first time, and one of them is a LIFE CHANGING event, being....
B R A Z I L I A N I P L
In January, a group of beauty bloggers (me included) were invited to go on a beautifying journey of a lifetime -- we could choose either a full leg OR brazilian IPL service, courtesy of Bubble Gum Wax at Casa Tropicana -- to commemorate their second outlet opening! (FYI BBGW first outlet is in Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas)
We were split into two sessions because BBGW can only take so many customers at one time.
So this is the view from outside BBGW from the carpark at Casa Tropicana. Interestingly, Casa Tropicana is an apartment location but they have various beauty salons and convenience stores within the venue to serve its residents and one of its tenants is BBGW!
(BBGW is located on the First Floor, just above 7-Eleven and Bianco Hair Salon.)
It's a beautiful start of the week and I've just gotten to try out some beauty products by MARIO BADESCU, courtesy of Luxola.
I first heard about the brand Mario Badescu while shopping for an acne solution in Sephora Starhill last year. I was being introduced to the brand by Sephora's Beauty Advisor and she recommended me Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. It retails RM130+ in Sephora the last time I purchased it (so far I have used two bottles) and I saw it being sold much cheaper at Luxola at RM90.
Everyone wants an ease of mind when it comes car servicing.
I know I do!
To be honest, I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to car stuff (cos my paps usually take care of those for me) but as I become older, I have taken on more responsibilities such as paying my own bills... and well, paying for my car maintenance.
As a lady with a car in the city, I'd always prefer to run errands all in one location because I want to buy my groceries, go to the gym, get my facials and falala-- in the shortest time possible. Also, it's easier to get everything done in ONE PLACE so that I do not waste my petrol and time moving about in the city or get caught in the jam.
So just last Tuesday, I was given the opportunity to get my car serviced IN A SHOPPING MALL! This basically means I leave my car to get it serviced for only less than two hours, while doing whatever I wanted to do in the mall!
FYI, Citicars currently has 4 outlets in Sunway Pyramid, The Gardens Mid Valley, Empire Shopping Gallery and Paradigm Mall and another 2 upcoming ones in City Square JB and DPulze Shopping Centre @ Cyberjaya (both set to open in May 2015).
I chose Sunway Pyramid because it's my current favourite shopping mall!
My all-time favourite HG skincare, Neutrogena has recently released in Malaysia two foaming cleansers to target two specific concerns -- Hydrating and Brightening! I saw these launched last year in Singapore last year July and I have been waiting for them ever since to reach our Malaysian shores!
Aujourd'hui, ce est tout au sujet de rouge à lèvres!
(Today is all about lipsticks!)
I am so excited to share with you what I got on the recent Saturday! Seeing that it is unusual for postmen to work on weekends, I assume this will be something really good!
Fast forward to the unwrapping, I was thrilled to see THREE metallic tubes of lipsticks with silver embossments of "BOURJOIS ROUGE EDITION AQUA Laque". The packaging is similar to ROUGE EDITION VELVET (which I have one myself and I absolutely adore!) and I got pretty giddy inside because I'm a sucker for cool and sleek packagings, as they emphasize the WOMAN in me! Though the tubes are made of shiny metallic material, the shine looks surprisingly CLASSY instead of trashy and cheap (because you know how cheap plastic can look)!!! Double yay!
