[GIVEAWAY] GINVERA Marvel White Full Range Product Review! (Face Scrub + Cleansing Foam + Refining Toner + Face Lotion)

Thursday, 28 August 2014

As I have talked about earlier this month, Ginvera Malaysia launched their full range of Marvel White series (including their star product - Zero Blackheads Marvel Gel) with main ingredients Green Tea & Shiso. So here's a detailed product review on how the products fare on my fairly dry skin.

Since I know that whitening products would not suit my skin well (dry skin users are not advised to use whitening products), I still insisted to go ahead and try this range because as far as I know, green tea and shiso are natural ingredients used and I wanted to test how far the products could do for my dry skin!

So let's start by getting acquainted with the four Marvel White products --

1. Marvel White Zero Blackhead Marvel Gel
40ml – RM25.90
Zero Blackheads in 1 Step for Fair and Flawless Skin

2. Marvel White Complete Cleansing Foam
100g – RM13.90
Deeply cleanses for flawless, translucent and radiant skin

3. Marvel White Refining Toner
150ml – RM18.90
Tone, Refine and Purify in Just 1 Spray

4. Marvel White Whitening Face Lotion
50ml – RM25.90
Day & night nourishment for flawless, radiant skin

So let's get started!

I'm starting with a bare naked clean face. This is taken without any skin smoothening effects, etc. so please pardon my not-so-perfect skin in the following pictures. This is done not to make you be disgusted with the current condition of my face (hello premenstrual impurities hehs), but to show you the efficacy of the products!

My bare naked face. You've been warned!

Starting off with Step One, the Zero Blackhead Marvel Gel -- I only squeezed out that little amount to cover my entire face (no water needed). Just rub against the gel with your face on the entire face until all the dead cells are spun into tiny white/dirty green gunk-like things! This blackhead gel can be used daily, as stated on the packaging. This product is supposed to be focused on the T-Zone area, it is supposed to remove blackheads after all!

Next, just wash your face with water and the cleansing foam. The cleansing foam is white in colour and it smells really pleasant! No weirdo green tea scent or that sort (you know how some green tea scent can be a tad bit overwhelming)!!

This is how my face looks like WITH the cleansing foam on. Notice there are almost no bubbles? Hurray for non chemical SLS stuff!

After washing your face, dry with a towel. I actually begin washing my face during my shower. By this time, I have already changed into another outfit and I spritz my face with the Refining Toner. Only one spritz is enough to cover the entire face!

Lastly, dab on some moisturizer for a soft and supple face!

And TADAH! Taken without skin smoothening effect.

And this is AFTER skin smoothening effect maximum, just so you can see the difference it makes in pictures.

As I said earlier, whitening products wouldn't really work well on my dry skin thus I didn't have any expectations on this product range. But to my surprise, this range is really LIGHTWEIGHT and SMELLS REALLY GOOD NATURALLY! Thus it didn't irritate my skin as much. My skin turned a little reddish after that (perhaps the whitening effect taking place?), but I have experienced other whitening products that flared up my sensitive dry skin much worse.

Being priced really reasonably is what makes this product range very affordable, especially for teenagers and young adults. As for the whitening effect, I have yet to see it for myself as I have only used this range once for review purposes.

So to those of you eager to get your hands on these babies, here's your chance because it's...........

Converse Jack Purcell X The Off-Day Pop Up Store

Wednesday, 27 August 2014
I bet you have heard of Converse the shoe brand, but what is a Jack Purcell?

Converse Malaysia threw a Jack Purcell Pop Up Store which took over The Off-Day Bangsar located at Jalan Telawi 3 for on a fine Thursday night. This event was to showcase the newest range of The Converse Jack Purcell “Cross-Stitch”.

Whilst everyone has heard of Converse, Jack Purcell has been around creating sneakers since 1935. The classic sneaker with its iconic “smile” toecap perfected the brand as a household favourite stylish sneaker. Converse Jack Purcell has been moving the brand into the vintage-classy direction and re-outfitted in sophisticated soft tumbled leather.

This pop-up store serves as a visual curation of Irman Hilmi’s Offday retail experimentation; where it specialises in capturing the old-school appeal in premium menswear with a little bit of punk rock influence that work hand-in-hand with Converse Jack Purcell’s old school appeal with the ala-Americana direction.
