My Thighs Progress Update!

Friday, 15 December 2017

Hello beauties!

Just wanted to share with you a quick update on my thighs progress, as promised!
Remember I went for a few thigh reduction sessions with The Life Clinic few months ago?

I went for a total of 3 sessions in the span of one month and the final results can be seen after a few months, so here I am to share some of my progress pics!

My last thigh treatment session. I always had huge thighs all my life.

From pictures, there is slight progress but in measurements, there isn't much difference between August and November. It has been about 3 months and I personally think 3 sessions aren't enough to see a vast difference yet. The doctor suggested 6-10 sessions to see vast improvements thus I think if you are going to take up this treatment, be sure to take at least 6 sessions to be satisfied with results.

Personally, I would like to take up more sessions but the price could fetch up to few thousands of Ringgit thus I don't think it is affordable to me at the moment. For those on a tight budget, the only way is still to go on a strict diet and incorporate exercise for a fitter and healthier body.

If you do have the budget to take up this treatment, by all means, go for it! A word of caution though, as it may be painful for those with low pain tolerance.

The Life Clinic currently is headed by Datin Dr Serina and has a female nurse. If you are one of those who are particular about having a female doctor attend to you - be glad! You will be able to ask female body-related questions without having to feel embarrassed.

Althea Wanderlust Beauty Box (Limited Edition) Unboxing & Review

Hello beauties!

Today I'm back again with another beauty box haul from Althea Korea!

If you're not familiar with Althea Korea, it's an e-commerce website selling all things kbeauty, waaaaaayy cheaper than your retailers in your country. Products are 100% authentic and the best part is they ship internationally for FREE if you spend a certain amount on the site!

So today I'll be sharing with you beauties the
I have reviewed Althea Boxes previously and you can click here to see them!

This box is curated specially by Althea team and once it's sold out, there will be no restock!
That's the way it is and will be for all specially curated Althea Boxes.

Boxes are curated based on a specific theme each time, so my advice to you for buying Althea Boxes is - BUY IT WHEN YOU SEE A *NEW* BOX AVAILABLE! If you see and like it, there will be no time for second guesses because once you miss it, IT'S GONE FOREVER.

However, don't fret if you didn't manage to snag a box because there will be new ones added every few weeks. So to stay on top of the game, be sure to subscribe to Althea's newsletters for latest updates. That's how I usually get to know about new box releases!

One great thing I have to mention about this beauty box is that you can see ALL THE ITEMS IN THE BOX before purchasing! I know some boxes have a minimum subscription whatsoever but these boxes don't!

By the time this review is up, this very box will be sold out, but no worries - you can still purchase any item you see here individually on the site (though it is much more worth it to buy them together in the box!).

So back to the box, here's my unboxing and thoughts about each product -

Aqutop Water Color Blusher in Soft Pink (worth RM58)

With Aqutop Blusher. Very subtle blush look.

What It Is:
A liquid blusher that comes in a nail polish-like bottle!

How To Use:
You traditionally use it alone as a blusher but you can also use it together with a liquid highlighter to make that cheek pop! Dab and blend with fingers - perfect for makeup beginners! Moreover, you can use it over your eyelids and lips for a monochromatic makeup look!

What I Like About It:
This blusher absorbs into my skin easily and doesn't mess up my makeup! Infused with Celbioniqu Water and Damask Rose Water, this blusher is perfect for keeping my skin moist (especially for colder months) and delivers the iconic Korean dewy look instantly.

Peripera Mini Mini Peppy's Carrier - Yellow (worth RM99)

I applied Ink Concealer as my highlighter and Ink Multi as my bronzer and eye base.

Once blended out with fingers and sponge, it looks pretty seamless!

Left to Right: Vivid Tint Water // Vivid Tint Water + Ink Airy // Ink Velvet

What It Is:
A travel luggage filled with 5 mini Peripera products including 3 lipsticks, 1 concealer and 1 Multi Shadow Cream to achieve a full face of makeup on the go! You can also customize your New York themed stickers as you wish, pull/push the handle and rotate the luggage wheels 360 degrees!

How To Use:
Dab and spread lipsticks using fingers onto the lips and also cheeks as a blusher OR use a brush for more precise application. As for the concealer, apply under eyes and along the T-zone for some highlight while using Multi Shadow on eyelids and as a liquid bronzer.

What I Like About It:
The size of it is PERFECT for travel! They're so small and honestly, you don't need a lot of product for fuss-free makeup! As travelling to humid places can make your makeup melt, these products are great for natural Asian makeup look and/or quick touch-ups! FYI New York is my top favourite city in the world and this definitely adds more motivation to save up for a visit there one day!

Vivid Tint Water gives a high shine finish. Ink Airy gives a matte finish. Ink Velvet gives a semi-matte finish. In terms of pigmentation: Vivid Tint Water (lightest) - Ink Airy - Ink Velvet (highest). Personally, I like Ink Velvet best 💖

COC Momo Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in #01 Real Black (worth RM20)

What It Is:
A waterproof twist-up black gel eyeliner that comes with a sharpener.

How To Use:
Simply twist up for usage. Use given sharpener (at the back) to make a more precise line. You can also use a flat eye brush to create a sharper line.

What I Like About It:
I enjoy the fact that this gel eyeliner is long lasting, especially for oily eyelids like mine! Great for sweaty outdoors or even a long day out travelling!

Heynature Dual Eyeshadow (worth RM40)

What It Is:
A dual eyeshadow stick that comes with a sponge at the other end to create an easy-breezy application!

How To Use:
Use the darker colour closer to eyelashes. With one swipe of the stick, use the sponge to blend out evenly. Layer on for more colour intensity.

What I Like About It:
The application is a dream come true for busy people on the go! Travel moments should be filled with pictures and memories instead of spending long hours in hotel just getting ready 😉
The only downside about it is I only have one eye look with this shadow stick.

However, I find this shadow stick is a little tricky to apply if you are not used to using crayon type shadows. You can always use a brush first instead of applying onto your lids directly to make it more seamless!

Etude House Dr Mascara Fixer for Super Long Lash (worth RM25)

What It Is:
A waterproof mascara which adds length to lashes by incorporating fine fibres. Formulated with black soybean extract to keep lashes healthy and strong, promoting growth and length!

How To Use:
Can be used as either base coat or top coat, generously coat lashes from root to tip and allow to dry.

What I Like About It:
It actually does what it says! See photos for comparison pics.

REVIEW: Philips Prestige StyleCare Auto Curler

It's review time again and in this blogpost I will be sharing my thoughts on the

Frankly speaking, the reason why you hardly see me in curls is because -

1) My hair is thick and unruly. It takes at least 20-30 minutes to curl my each section of my hair properly. Thus it is too TIME CONSUMING to make my whole crowning glory look good thus making me lazy to reach for the curling wand.

2) I sometimes mess up thus it can become a (bad) messy situation. I lack the skill to curl properly. Instead of having salon-made curls, I have poodle curls.

So I was looking to buy a new, hassle-free hair curler and the only auto curler I know is from Babyliss and it costs around RM800+!!! The price would cause a huge dent to my bank account thus that's the reason why I have been holding back all these while.

Then some good news came . . . . . Philips recently launched THIS *NEW* AUTO CURLER.

Philips, a well-known household brand develops a hair curler. Now this would be of quality and of course, efficient and reliable. I have used Philips hair dryers and hair tools in the past and I know I can count on the quality.

Some of the outstanding features are:
  • Smart curling system - It has a beeping system to indicate time's up
  • Huge barrel for 2x more hair in one go - Ideal for people with thick hair
  • Vertical grip instead of horizontal for better ergonomic hold
  • Smart curl guards - Never again burn your fingers or ears because only the insides of the barrel is heated - which is specially made for your hair!

. . . . .  and the retail price is RM629! Not too bad for an auto curler!

My hair type is thick and coarse (from all the colouring and bleaching). It could take me a good 30 minutes to curl each section of my unruly locks and they can sometimes get tangled in between.

My hair is currently at my elbow's length and the pictures below demonstrate how thick my hair truly is.

This is how my hair looks like within 10 minutes of using the Philips Auto Curler. It really is a DREAM COME TRUE for thick hair like mine!

It does give me symmetry and evenly distributed curls that I always long for! I feel this is because the timing is one of the most important factors to give an even look and I somehow always mistime myself!

Here's my ratings for this Auto Curler:

Efficacy: 5/5 - it can do curls in such a short amount of time!
Variety: 4/5 - can't do small curls
User Interface: 5/5 - pretty straightforward with good labels
Ergonomics: 5/5 - made with the intent of not making our arms feel tired YASSS!
Price: 3/5 - still on the pricey side

You can get this Auto Curler at any Philips Experience Store or check out this link on the "Where To Buy" section to learn more!

This is not a sponsored post however, I received this Auto Curler as part of PR initiatives.

Dining at Burger & Lobster, Sky Avenue Mall, Genting Highlands Malaysia

Saturday, 18 November 2017

Hello readers!

Today's blogpost is going to be a lifestyle one, or more specifically - FOOD!

I finally have some time to sit down and pen down my thoughts about this F&B joint that opened in Malaysia recently, all the way from London! This burger joint is not your ordinary one because it combines beef with a very popular type of crustacean . . . . LOBSTERS!

My boyfriend, Jack is a HUGE FAN of steaks since the beginning of his bodybuilding days, and after watching lots of Masterchef episodes and seasons, we got introduced to lobsters (being an 'atas' food lulz) and 'Surf & Turf'.

Click to enlarge. The cheaper price is reflected for Genting Rewards cardmembers.

The menu presented to us while we were waiting in line. There is usually a long line waiting outside the restaurant and you'd have to queue about 15-30 minutes before entering because the place is always packed!

(It is recommended that you sign up for a Genting Rewards Card before entering here because the price is about 10% cheaper for Genting Rewards cardmembers).

The food menu is pretty simple and straightforward as there is only a handful to choose from as you are only presented with choices of Mains & Desserts. There are only 3 choices of burgers, 3 live lobsters, 3 lobster rolls and 3 desserts.

Once you step into the sitting area, there will be another Beverage Menu with choices of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

I ordered a Banana Peanutbutter milkshake for myself while waiting for food to arrive. It tastes really good but price is a bit steep at RM21.

Happy faces when our food arrived!

Yep, we settled on the 2 different Mains (1 burger & 1 live lobster) so that we are able to taste and compare the differences between them.
Jack settled for the Burger while I went for the Live Lobster.
😋 😋 😋

The B&L Burger

We ordered two Mains, one of them being this Signature B&L Burger. We opted for this because this burger has the combination of both Australian beef and lobster, while the other two options did not include lobster together.

The beef patty was really juicy, and the portion of lobster was generous. We could actually taste the authenticity of the lobster meat inside without any overpowering flavours from the sauce. There was a distinct difference between beef and lobster - but once you sink your teeth into them together, the combination resulted in an absolutely heavenly burst of flavours!

One thing though, once we finished the burger, it seemed that it doesn't fill our tummies just quite enough yet. You'd have to perhaps eat the sides (french fries and salad) to feel really full.

Price: RM138
Value for Money: 4/5
Great For: Someone who loves both their beef and prime seafood together in one meal!

The Chilli Lobster

As for the Live Lobster, we opted for Chilli Lobster because we were curious about the gravy (we dine in Shell Out quite frequently, thus we were eager to compare the flavours)!

We were definitely not disappointed with the portion because the amount of lobsters was definitely too much for me (a adult female with a huge appetite) to finish alone, espeically with the delicious garlic toasts! I had to ask Jack to help me finish the rest because the portion is really generous!

As for the gravy, there wasn't anything special about it - it was mildly spicy for our Malaysian tongue. We felt that the gravy could be easily replicated but nonetheless it was delicious!

Price: RM168
Value for Money: 5/5
Great For: A Pure Lobster Fanatic with a love for chillies!

I have also ordered Takeaway option from Burger & Lobster too, and it is fairly easy to place an order for it (if you wish to skip the long queue). You just have to go straight to the Hostess and tell her you want to order a takeaway, then she will lead you towards the bar area for ordering and payment. A thing to note though, you may have to pay additional RM2 for each Recycle Bag (if you need one).

These are the other F&B outlets available at Sky Avenue, Genting - if you're wondering!
There are a huge variety of restaurants to choose from, that you'd be spoilt for choices!

Also, these are some of the retail outlets that have opened so far. The popular ones include H&M, Sephora, Muse by Watsons, Lovisa, Padini, Charles & Keith, Adidas, Xixili, Thomas Sabo, Pandora, Esprit, Bath & Body Works and Machines.

Burger & Lobster Malaysia is located at
Level 1, SkyAvenue, Genting Highlands, 69000 Genting Highlands Resort, Pahang.
