Have you ever heard of "Gua Sha"?
Neither have I, apparently it's a ancient Chinese technique used for body massages using a scraping technique to improve blood circulation. Gua sha is sometimes referred to as "spooning" or "coining" by English speakers. Gua sha involves repeated pressured strokes over lubricated skin with a smooth edge. You know, the after-effects include red lines all over the body?
I personally have not tried it on my body yet, but I was invited to try out a facial version of Gua Sha by Arte Belle, run by two lovely ladies -- Fiona Chai & Yee Mun Teoh. Arte Belle is newly founded and they do not own a salon as of now. Therefore, they provide home services around Klang Valley area. If you are interested in this Beauty Gua Sha Facial, they will arrange an appointment and provide the service to you at the comfort of your own home! The session will take about 1-1.5 hours.
Basically, Gua Sha is just a facial technique and they explained that they will be using world renowned beauty products from ARTISTRY to complete the facial process. Yee Mun explained that she does the facial on her mother during her practice session and noticed that her mother's fine lines has improved significantly!
Here's a short clip of what Gua Sha facial is --
We did a short experiment on one side of my face to compare the differences. Starting on my right side of the face (using my nose piercing as the reference).

The duo behind Arte Belle!
Before the session started, we had quite a lot to talk about! We talked about their recent customers, about other bloggers they did facials for, also a little bit of their background and history! From what I can recall, both of them are from Medical/Nutritionist background, they met in university and one of their lecturers was the one that introduced Gua Sha to them! It really was a joy letting them work on my face because they were extremely nice and professional! (They also complimented I have really nice skin to begin with! *shy*)
After the facial session, I noticed that my skin became more hydrated (which improves my biggest concern, which is dry skin)! My pore size, especially around my nose area is significantly reduced (YAY!) and I felt a natural face lift after the therapy! Dark circles not visibly reduced, though.
The scraping was surprisingly not pain AT ALL, I experience almost no pain (maybe because my pain tolerance is high). I did not experience any red bruising after the facial, so DOUBLE YAYYY!!
I enjoyed the ARTISTRY products because it feels so lightweight and they have a pleasant scent. Nothing Chinese-y or medicine scent off that sort. Overall, it was an okay experience. I wasn't expecting magic to happen after one session HAHA! But they told me that the face texture will improve with more sessions :)
Also, I noticed both their faces are strictly FLAWLESS! Not one pimple, no scars, no obvious fine lines, NADAA! Especially Yee Mun!! If you do engage them for their facial services, you would notice that both of them have super RADIANT skin! *envy*
These were the products used during the facial treatment --
